Private Lessons are offered during the school day for students with area professional musicians.  This is a convenience offered to counter having to drive to Mt. Pleasant or Charleston or Columbia in many cases for lessons.  Our goal is to bring the teachers to you, here, at SHS.  Lessons are once a week and are scheduled with the individual private instructors.  The cost of private lessons is $25-30 per session, depending on the instructor.  ​

There is no substitute for one-on-one instruction.  Many of the seats in the SCBDA All State Bands and the Bands of America National Honor Bands are filled by students who study privately, and the benefits of private study make the time and money an excellent investment in a student's future.  The goal is to help create accomplished musicians who can enjoy the love of playing and performing throughout their lives, no matter how they choose to do so.
